Our Doctrinal Perspective
In the essential Christian beliefs we have unity.
"There is one body and one spirit…there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and father of us all…"
In distinctive beliefs we have liberty tempered by love.
"Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters…So then each of us will give an account of himself to God."
Our Essential Christian Beliefs
The Inspiration of the Scriptures
The 66 books of the Bible are verbally inspired of God, and are the revelation of God to man. The original documents of the scriptures are inerrant, infallible, and the authoritative rule of faith and conduct.
– 2 Timothy 3:15-17"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
There is One True God
The one true God has revealed himself as the eternally self-existent “I AM”, the Creator and the Redeemer of mankind. He has further revealed himself as embodying the principles of his relationship and association as FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT. They are in unity of One Being (the Trinity) of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Father is God. The Son is God. The Holy Spirit is God. They are One God. – Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matthew 3:16-17
Man’s Need for Salvation
Man was created by God and in His image. By a voluntary transgression, man fell and incurred physical death and spiritual death, which is separation from God. – Genesis 1:26, 27; 2:17; 3:6; Romans 3:11-20
Salvation is found in Jesus Christ
Jesus came to restore man’s broken relationship with God. His substitutionary, atoning death for our sins, along with His resurrection from the dead brings reconciliation between God and man. Salvation is by grace through faith, and cannot be earned. – Romans 5:12-19, 6:23; John 3:16; Ephesians 2:1-9
The Holy Spirit
The only way we can be guided, taught, and effectively carry out our mission is through the involvement of the Holy Spirit in our lives. This requires an ongoing submission to His directives in every facet of our lives.
– Ephesians 5:15-21; John 15:16-18, 16:5-15; Galatians 5:25"…but be filled with the Spirit."
The Church
The Church is the body of Christ which exists to glorify God, to build believers that are being perfected in the image of Christ; and to spread the gospel throughout the world. – Ephesians 2:11-36, 4:11-16; Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8, 2:42
The Soon Return of Jesus
The second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign on the earth for a thousand years. –
– Revelation 22:7; Matthew 24:27, 30; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6"Behold I am coming soon."
The Final Judgment
Christ will judge the unsaved dead after His thousand year reign, when they will be committed to eternal punishment in the lake of fire. – Revelation 20:1-15
Essentials of Christ-centered Living
Worship
We believe God is worthy of all praise, reverence, and love. It is our goal to worship Him with our whole lives; at home, at work, and at play. We take special time to worship Him in our church through song, tithes, fellowship, studies, and the exposition of His Word. – Matthew 4:10; Luke 10:27; Romans 12:1; 1 Corinthians 10:31; Ephesians 3:20-21
Christian Growth
Our supreme desire is to know Jesus and to be conformed to His image, likeness, and example by the power of the Holy Spirit. We encourage this by abiding in Jesus Christ through His Word, prayer, fellowship, and by yielding our lives to the Holy Spirit. – John 4:23, Colossians 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13
Love
The greatest virtue and demonstration of the reality of Christ Jesus. We endeavor to show a Christ-like love to all men. Love should be exhibited in our lives by our words as well as our actions. John 13:34-35, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Philippians 2:3-5
Christian Service
A part of the Christian life and is the responsibility of all believers. Our goal is to develop the ministry of every member to the benefit of all. –Ephesians 4:11-13, 1 Corinthians 12:4-7
Evangelism
The responsibility of all Christians. We are called by Jesus Christ to go and make disciples of the nations. Our goal is to help people be connected with Jesus Christ and experience the gift of eternal life. – John 3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21, Matthew 28:18-20
